Watersports
The world looks very different from the water. Franeker is the gateway to the Wadden landscape. An open landscape that has been cultivated by human hands over the centuries. The sea has been tamed, but the former dynamics of the area can still be experienced. Dykes, terps, polders and salt marsh ridges are clearly visible in the land. It is no coincidence that this region is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea.
Enjoy the impressive views, the Wadden dyke on the horizon and come to rest!
